Research use policy

This page states the condition under which Solara Life Sciences supplies every product on this site, what is and is not claimed about those products, and what a purchaser agrees to.

Condition of supply

Every Solara product is supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only. The products are not for human or veterinary use, not for use in food, cosmetics or natural health products, and not for diagnostic or clinical use.

No representation about effects

Nothing on this site, on a label, or in correspondence from Solara represents any product as having a use or benefit in a person or an animal, or represents any product as a drug, a natural health product, a supplement or a cosmetic within the meaning of Canada's Food and Drugs Act. Product pages and Peptides 101 describe the structure, form, quantity, analysis and handling of the material and where a compound appears in published research.

Regulatory status

Solara products are not licensed drugs in Canada or elsewhere. They carry no Drug Identification Number (DIN) and no Natural Product Number (NPN), and they are not manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practices.

Testing and documentation

Solara does not issue certificates of analysis for its own lots and does not publish chromatograms or mass spectra. For 19 products, the product page and its technical data sheet show a laboratory analysis of the manufacturer's lot (laboratory, report number, identity where reported, HPLC purity and measured quantity); these results describe the manufacturer's lot, not a Solara-labelled vial, which carries no lot number. Solara does not claim sterility, endotoxin or pyrogen testing, and does not publish residual-moisture, net-peptide-content, counter-ion, stability, photostability or container-closure data for any lot. Where a property is not tested or not published, it is unknown rather than assumed.

Purchaser responsibilities

By ordering, a purchaser confirms that they are of the age of majority in their province or territory, that they are qualified to handle research chemicals, that the material is for laboratory research, and that handling, storage and disposal will follow the rules of their institution and jurisdiction. Solara may decline or cancel an order where research use is in doubt.

Labelling

Each vial is labelled with the compound's common name, the total quantity in milligrams, the form, an expiry date, and the words for research use only. The label does not carry a lot number. The label does not carry the amino acid sequence or the salt form. The label does not state whether the milligram figure is the gross powder weight or the net peptide content.
